After scanning the 30 odd reviews of The Perch, I wonder whether we are all staying in the same place? The location was pleasant, set in the woods of the Parks Highway, about 10 miles from Denali N.P. The cabins primitive but comfortable. We had one with a private bath for two nights and switched to one without the last... more

My husband and I brought a few of our extended family (parents) up for a 4 day Denali weekend. After reading the reviews, we were excited to go and experience these quaint cabins. They were fantastic! Plenty of space for 4 adults (in private cabins-- the green ones at the bottom of the hill). One full/queen bed and two twins--... more

We had planned a trip in July. Unfortunately we have had to cancle, today, March 4. The people at this "resort" are still going to keep 10% of our money after I contacted them four months out! I can't wait to complete our dream of a trip to Alaska so I can swing by and tell them we chose another... more

My girl friend and I stayed four nights at the Perch and found it to be a very pleasant place to stay. Keep in mind, this is not a luxury resort but it was clean, comfortable and a short drive to Denali. To me, you go to Denali to be outdoors. We used the Perch as little more than a... more

My son and I had a very enjoyable stay there. We loved the rustic feel of our cabin (with private bath) and its setting a short walk from a stream. One afternoon we drove through Glitter Gulch and realized how much we appreciated staying at the Perch instead. Our cabin had a nice layout with a queen and twin bed... more

We had a great stay here. While all the pricey hotels were booked, and very expensive, we saw the website and decided to give it a try. The price was right, and we opted for a share-bath cabin. It was such a suprise! Decorated wtih nice hand-made quilts, clean, quiet and right on the river! It was nothing fancy, but... more

We arrived via the Alaska Railroad and had difficulty seeing the park due to the shuttle schedule of the hotel. Their complementary shuttle picks up at the park at 7PM, returning there at 9AM. The 1st problem there is no place to store your bags beyond 5PM. So that leaves 2 hours to worry about what to do with your... more

We arrived and could not believe how small the cabin is, it is the size of a tough shed that you put in your backyard. We spoke to the manager and were told that if she could rent it for the nights that we had reserved she would refund our money. They did rent it for 1 of the 2... more

Staying around Denali National Park is usually expensive since there are not many options. We stayed at the Perch resort since our budget was quite limited and we were quite surprised. No luxury of course, but a cozy and nice place. We had one of the cabins by the river (4 meters to it) and it was great to put... more

My family of three adults was scheduled to stay in a cabin with a bathroom for 3 nights. I know that hotels in Denali are expensive, and knew we'd be roughing it at the Perch. But I expected more for $150/night. I'm surprised by the positive reviews I've read. Here's a summary of our experience: - The cabin was tiny;... more
