The prospect of staying in a cabin on the edge of Denali was an enticing part of our Alaska holiday but this place was somewhat disappointing. We stayed for 2 nights at Denali cabins at mile 229 of the park's highway. Cabins were back to back and we could hear neighbors. Biggest plus: bus tour picks up here and is the only reason to consider a one night stay. Decent early morning basic breakfast. Cabins are ok, though nothing special. Location is very inconvenient if you don't have a car. They provide shuttle bus to Healy, but not from 2-5pm, nor after 9.30 pm, so it's not easy to get to the restaurant/ store or to return on time to catch the last shuttle. more
