We sailed up to Alaska on the Coral Princess cruise ship and then rented a car to tour the state. We stayed at the Kenai Princess and then at the Denali Princess so I think I know what the Princess experience should be. I am sorry to say that the Denali Princess falls well short of the Princess standards. The... more

We got a real bargain on this (two for one and including transportation from Anchorage) or I would have been really mad!!! This was not a nice hotel. We stayed at the Princess Kenai and it was much better. We had lousy mattresses and room was spartan at best. Carpet looked 100 years old and bedding was the same. I... more

I was shocked to read so many of these reviews. I have to say I'm a very discriminating traveler and very snooty when it comes to hotels, and I was totally impressed by this place -- AND, I wasn't a cruise ship passenger. It is so charming, large, onsite shopping/activities, scenic and central to everything. I do believe my room... more

We cannot comment on the experience of cruise ship package guests, but for individual travelers, this is not the place. There is virtually no parking, the rooms are far from the front desk in separate buildings and you have to lug your bags the whole way. We were told there were electric carts, but did not see any. Our room... more

I booked this hotel for a special rate of $99. For that rate, I thought it was hard to beat. I had the room overlooking the river which was fine. The room was clean and the property was tidy. There was a large lodge style lobby area with a fireplace. This property had several buildings with trails connecting them. All... more

I purchased a package deal that took my daughter and I from Fairbanks to the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. Except for the misinformation about Alaska and Alaskans provided by the Princess employees, the train ride was good there and back. The stay at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge however, was not that great. They rushed us through that place like... more

This is a very large lodge run by the cruise line Princess and mainly used by cruise guests on their land visit to Alaska. It does not have a view of Mount McKinley. It is situated west of the national park entrance. We had booked rooms with river view, but that information had not been passed on to the hotel.... more

After leaving the McKinley lodge the Denali one was a disappointment. The lodge was on a main road across the street from a "strip mall". Power lines, traffic lights, some traffic.....the complete opposite to McKinley. We did eat breakfast there and it was very good. We went to the dinner theatre which was OK.....good.....ribs/salmon, etc. It was a bit hokie,... more

We stayed here two nights during the land portion of a Cruise West trip. This lodge is quite impressive. It is huge, the largest in Alaska. The complex is so large, you think of it as a village. The view is spectacular. It sits on a small bluff overlooking a river and the mountains. We were lucky and were able... more

I'd booked a room for two nights. The clerk could not find the reservation. After a long wait a manager found a room. Paid for the room, but was not given a receipt. (Bad idea). After the first nights stay, went into DNP and came out of the park late- around ten. Tired. Wanted a shower and sleep. Found that... more
