The main problem with all the hotels located just outside Denali National Park is that they are expensive for what they offer, at least compared with city hotels. But one must not forget that these hotels are not in a city, but 150 miles from anywhere!!! The hotels have high maintenence costs, which have to be amorticized and produce a... more

I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. The hotel was not cheap. The rooms were very small, much like a summer camp cabin. We visited in high season and found the staff borderline incompetent. We asked for a second key, they didn't have it. We asked for food to go, you thought we were asking for the moon. Went to... more

We were booked originally at the McKinley resort but it caters to the cruise lines so they were overbooked and we were bumped over to the Denali Bluffs Hotel. What a disappointment. I had originally told our travel agent when she tried to book us there that we did not want to go there as it is not close to... more

While I usually find the tripadvisor reviews helpful, they are dead wrong for this property. This is a great place for the independent traveller to stay -- IF (and it's a big if) you get the right price. First, you should know that the property is in "Glitter Gulch" -- the poorly developed tourist community right outside the Denali Park... more

Stayed here 2 nights. Very small rooms and had only a double bed for husband and I. You could hear everything going on in the room next door and upstairs. People at desk have no idea about transportation to train station. We received 4 different versions of what we should do. Finally got someone who knew what they were doing.... more

This hotel had more Alaskan charm than what I was expecting from other posts. Maybe I was in a renovated room but I thought both the hotel and area in which it was located suited someone who does not spend much time in the room just fine. Okay I have to admit, was the hotel worth the $250 a night,... more

The room was clean, but the $30 surcharge for a mountain view was lost due to trees groing up outside balcony. The road was noisy The staff were polite, but did not seem very aware of the hotel. The hotel write up implied there two resturants - but there in only one on site. We went to the Mountain Grill... more

We stayed at the Bluffs for 2 nights but not out of choice. Please refer to my review at the McKinley Lodge Resort. The McKinley Lodge gave our room away to a tour group even though we had booked 7 months ahead. Apparently, they often overbook and cater to the tours. We were told this was the only place in... more

The Denali Bluff's hotel should be equated to a third rate motel. My mother and I stayed there for two nights. We requested a room for a person with disabilities because my mom has bad arthritis in her knees. They completely forgot and booked us in a room that required her to walk up and down a steep slope to... more

Let me preface this review by saying the resort was closing for the season "in four days," which was the excuse we heard every time there was a problem. Generally speaking, our room was clean except for the coffee pot. Perhaps we could have overlooked the peeling paint in the bathroom, though it is not something one expects from a... more
