First, understand that this is NOT a resort. It does not have the sorts of facilities that a fancy RV park has. But what it does have is proximity to some of the most beautiful nature you will ever encounter. And it meets all of your basic needs comfortably. There, having got that out of the way, let me tell... More

Thanks for the tip about reduced mosquitoes in the walk-in sites in Loop A. We got a spot near the water and the breeze definitely helped at dawn and dusk. Thankfully, there was nothing biting during the day. The ranger led bird walk was very good, as was the evening star talk (wear long pants, sleeves and put on bug... More

Had a terrible stay here. The bugs were bad, but that is to be expected. It is the Everglades after all. They were probably worse than they needed to be, because the campground is just a grass field and when they mow they don't bag the cut grass. The ground was covered with dead grass cuttings. We had reserved a... More

Well if you are looking for a no frills camping experience, you have come to the right place. It is a rustic camp ground with hiking trails and lots of wildlife, but no campground amenities such as a pool or playground for the kids. They do allow ground fires, which is fun for the kids to roast hot dogs &... More

I have camped here for about 6 or 7 nights altogether on 3 occasions, interspersed over by 2 trips to Everglades Flamingo area. I am a birder and love shooting all kinds of Raptors and wading birds. This place is simply a haven. The best thing about this place is that you don't have to searching for birds - they... More

This is a very barren area for children. There are no facilities for children. No pool, no beach, no play ground. The facilities are not as advertised on the web site. The hook ups are electric only no water at the site.as advertised. It is secluded. Absent ATT for cell service and satellite tv there is no outside world. Not... More

We spent 2 nights in the Flamingo Campground and had a really great time! It was soooo quiet compared to other campgrounds and it is indeed great that tents and RVs are not mixed up, as true campers ;) don't really enjoy the noise of generators! We had bugs as well, but there was a nice breeze, and the days... More

Open campground with over 200 sites for tents and RV’s. As of 2012 there are 41 pull-through sites with 50 amp electricity, however, electric sites are available only on a first come basis. So, you need to reserve a non-electric site ($16) and hope that an electric site is available upon arrival. Electric aites are an additional $14 per day.... More

We're worldwide campers (deserts, mountains, rainforest) but this was the most miserable camping trip I have ever had. We were there in December, when the bugs aren't supposed to be bad, but even when we climbed in the tent, leaving the mosquitoes behind, we had no-see-ums that bit all exposed skin all night. After two nights "camping" (we left first thing... More
