My experience here was rotten right from the start - at checkin, since my husband did not have the confirmation email - he gave his last name and since it was under my name, they didnt find it ofcourse and instead of asking politely if it could be under another name, the staff just rudely informs him that he has no reservation at that hotel - customer service is totally non-existent at this place -... more

We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express the night before Thanksgiving. It's just a short hop to the park. The kids liked swimming in the pool, the breakfast was sufficient, and the room was clean. For t he AAA rate of $79, it was a great value! more

We researched where to stay when visiting the Grand Canyon and felt this was the best of our options. Williams is pretty far away if you want to go into the park for consecutive days. Tuscayan is not the greatest of towns for restaurants but we did have a good meal at Sophia's Mexican Kitchen. A comfortable if pricey (well it is the Grand Canyon) HOI. The room was comfortable and clean and it is a very short walk to the IMAX theatre where the Grand Canyon film is shown and tours can be booked (we took a great tour with National Geographic). There is not many options to stay near Grand canyon. You either stay directly in the Grand canyon Village, in nearby Tusayan or Williams. I personally prefer staying overnight in Williams, but this time had to stay closer to the park due to the trip plan and because we had a heli tour early morning. I stayed here with my spouse in October of 2009 during a long weekend trip to the Grand Canyon. It was a pretty decent value for an average hotel at the Grand Canyon. There were no special restaurants, themes or deluxe amenities, but the value was good for an average hotel. Check in went well and the staff was efficient. Typical Holiday Inn, clean and helpful staff at the desk. Great location - close to the park entrance. Breakfast is included and very good, but they need more room to sit. Looks adaquate, but is actually jammed when the hotel is full with people standing waiting for someone to vacate a table. You may just want to bring food back to your room. Travelled here with my son's family: two adults, four kids. The "kids' suite was perfect. There were televisions in the bedroom, the living room, and the kids' room. The bunk bed in the kids room was nice. The kitchen was complete -- refrigerator, stove, microwave. The hotel is a two minute drive from the Grand Canyon Park entrance. There is a large indoor pool.
