Absolutely perfect. I got the most wonderful photographs of the bears roaming around. The hosts of the Alaska Homestead Lodge are truly super people. We spent several days at the Homestead Lodge and had a great time everyday. The fun started with the flight in, landing on the beach. We just left the Homestead Lodge (www.alaskahomesteadlodge.com) this morning, and I have had tears ever since. Note that we did NOT stay here, but instead did some bear viewing with Smokey Bay Air to the Alaska Homestead Lodge (AHL) The best excursion of our trip! This is a most amazing, relaxing place. THe lodge is beautiful and looks out over Cook Inlet. The bear viewing is incredible, they can come withing a few feet of you. Canoeing, some hiking, beach combing, clamming, fishing, or relax and read, you will have an amazing time. James and Sheila are superb hosts. Special diets are not a problem... more
