We booked nights at Sol Duc, Kalaloch and Quinault as part of the Gas Savings Getaway package - three nights for $349 + $50 gas voucher. All three were excellent but very different. We arrived at Sol Duc in pouring rain wondering how far we had to drive along the seemingly endless access road and what we would find. From... more

After leaving the miserable Quinalt Lodge this was our next day booking. Remember, Aramark Co. has the exclusive rights to three properties within the Fed Nat Park of Olympia and they are, in my opinion, gouging the public and poorly managing these properties till their 10 year lease expires in a few years. It is near the end of the... more

Yes, this place is more rustic, but remember this is national park lodging - something you sacrifice for the history & beauty that surrounds you. I am a picky traveler and absolutely loved this place! We actually stopped for a late lunch at Lake Crescent Lodge. While this may be more what you think of when you hear "lodge", I'm... more

Stayed two nights in August. Cabins are very basic and mostly clean. Bathroom is really small. We had a non kitchen cabin with two queens that was really two doubles. Surprisingly the area was quiet at quiet time. The included breakfast was very filling and had hot items, although the staff had a hard time keeping them filled. The hot... more

After spending the morning hiking on Hurricane Ridge and an afternoon treck to the Sol Duc Falls, a relaxing soak in the hot springs and dinner at the lodge were a perfect cap for the day. We stayed in a lodge cabin which was clean and comfortable with all of the basic necessities. Dinner and breakfast at the Lodge were... more

Sol Duc was a treat. I agree with the othe reviews that it may not be what many people think of as a resort, but it was very nice. I think you could walk in off the trail with only the clothes on your back and make do at Sol Duc. The bathroom had soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion in dispensers;... more

We made a reservation at sol duc 10 months in advancedfor one night while visiting family in WA. When we got there to check in they told us they were overbooked (eventhough we showed up with email confirmation that they had sent, in hand!) They put us up at nearby Elwah B&B which was great (see our review). They also... more

My friend and I were on a girl's getaway weekend when we decided to stay here. I think the "resort" in the name was misleading because it was much more rustic than "resort" implies. We arrived late on a Monday and were lucky to get the last cabin available. It was clean, cozy and had a great porch with a... more

We spent a week touring the Olympic Peninsula and spent two nights at Sol Duc. Our expectations were pretty low based on other reviews however our stay was great. Our kids loved the cabin and continue to talk about Sol Duc being one of the highlights. Accommodations were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was in very good shape - must have... more

My experience has been that all National Park lodges are overpriced...but this one was a better deal than most. The use of the hot springs and the ample complimentary breakfast made this stay a bargain. The location is problematic as Olympic has various entrances and all sites are remote from each other and this one is down an access road... more
