As others have posted, this lodge is in the perfect location inside Kings Canyon park; close to the restaurant, visitor center, and hiking. The lobby and upper and lower porches are well maintained and perfect for relaxing. We ate in both the main restaurant and the pizza restaurant, service was excellent in both locations .. in particular staff at the... More

We stayed here for 4 days over spring break. The location could not be better. There are several good trails that are walking-close to the Lodge, a ranger station right next door, and it is pretty much splits the distance between destinations like Moro Rock and Kings Canyon. As far as opportunities for things to do you are not going... More

This hotel is centrally located, so it's easy to get to all the important sites in King's Canyon & Sequoia National Park. We were thrilled to be able to get wifi in the lobby & nearby restaurant. A very good restaurant is within walking distance of the lodge. Remember to register at Grant Grove Village Center. The registration is not... More

My BFF and I meet at a National Park every year, this year Kings Canyon. I heard it could be noisy, NOT SO. Room was clean, and did not miss TV or radio. WiFi in peaceful lobby, but very slow. The lobby was my favorite place, comfortable, quiet, and a place to meet new friends. Porches at end of hallway,... More

Sorry to say was not thrilled. The location is great and room okay. But our room was dirty and well worn with stain rug and chair. It was never made up in the day. Came back after long day hiking and room stuffy and not cleaned. When looking for something under table spied cookie crumbs and pretzels .. Not from... More

From the three smiling faces at the registration desk to the day we checked out I would rate this Lodge GREAT. The rooms were very clean, fresh paint and new carpeting. Very quite rooms and nice beds. Free parking right outside of your the lodge. Free Wi-Fi in lobby also. Great hiking and lost of sights to see in the... More

we spend 3 nights at John Muir lodge - due to a mistake of "booking.com" our reservation (even though we had one as mail and in written form) did not show up in the lodge´s system and we were being told that this happens quite often if people from outside US book via this company - please book via other... This lodge is just several years old and rooms are very modern and well appointed. As per all National Park rooms, no TV and no internet unless you have Verizon as there is cell coverage for those of us who do. My friend has ATT and she had no coverage. Walls are thin. Got to hear every flush of every... More

This was a wonderful surprise. The registration is in the gift shop area. The lodge is about a block away. So, this leaves the lodge lobby tranquil & uncluttered. The Lodge has a main floor sitting area with fireplace and games, everything is made from wood from that area. The rooms were wonderful! Quaint, homey, and very clean, no musty... More

The Lodge was clean and very basic but what we expected. As others have said the walls are thin! But they do give you earplugs and they post "quiet time from 9pm to 8am" and folks honored it. The restaurant was some of the best food we had and the service was fantastic. Sunday is prime rib night and it... More
