Greeted on arrival, very nice place, beautiful bedrooms with 4 poster bed and balcony off the room was nice to sit and relax with a drink in the evening. Keith and his staff were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The food was second to none - home cooked and very very tasty. Read a few reviews... more

For me, it did the job - somewhere to stop overnight on a walking tour of the Lakes. Price - yes not cheap but nowhere in the Lakes is what you'd call good value. Staff - found them courteous and affable, I didn't have a problem, Food ? Average pub food - no more; nice range of local real ales.... more

My new wife and I stayed at the Pooley Bridge Inn on our wedding night, and indeed the night before so we were in the area to prepare everything. Keith, his family and staff were most accommodating to our needs as, such a reserving a vast proportion of his busy restaurant to enable our immediate wedding party to dine with... more

We decided to book a hotel close to Ullswater, and when searching the internet the Pooley Bridge is one of the first sites to appear. From the website, the hotel looked very nice with a lovely al fresco dining experience as well as the country inn charm you would expect from the area. Based on the website, we booked 2... more

After reading some of the reviews (after already made the booking) we went to Pooley Bridge Inn with more than a little apprehension. However, this was unfounded. The room was lovely with a large balcony and table and chairs. Plenty of cupboard space and clean. Bed was comfortable and changed both days of our weekend stay. Full English breakfast was... more

Stayed here for one night before we did a Virgin experience baloon ride. Upon arriving at the hotel we entered into the bar to check in, the bar was very busy and was mostly full of teenagers. When we got to our rooms we were very dissapointed, the website is VERY misleading and gives the hotel an boutique appearance! There... more

The Cumberland sausage was served sliced and cold with cold onions, the Pizza slice was not pizza at all but a halved Baggette topped with what... more

We had already booked a 2 night stay before remembering to look at trip advisor. When reading the reviews we had a definite 'oh no, had we done a wrong thing here' moment! So we set off and arrived with some trepidation in the ample sized car park of the Pooley Bridge Inn. Taking only hand luggage into the main... more

We stayed as an extended group for a birthday celebration and to do some walking. The staff were friendly and (apart from breakfast) generally very efficient. Rooms were nice - although ours was spoiled by the double-glazing units being full of condensation, which spoiled the view. A comfortable queen-sized bed. Food is good pub fare, though breakfast was a bit... more
