We went in June 2004 with a coach party. Staff were friendly but not geared up for large groups. Main drawback of hotel is that there is no lounge area to relax in - bar is small. My son's wedding was held in the Birnam House Hotel in July 2004. The wedding reception was really well organised and the food was delicious and hot. This hotel is so beautiful. It's like a little castle. and they have awesome celtic music. I saw Andrew Gordon there last year and it was so much fun! the town is great too. with the beatrix potter garden just across the way. more

A charming friendly hotel in breathtakingly beautiful countyside. The staff went out of their way to make guests feel welcome - nothing was too much trouble. The rooms where comfortable and nicely furnished.I have yet to stay anywhere that I have liked so much. more
