Given the mixed reviews, I was not sure what to expect when I booked the Lawnmere Inn for a spur-of-the-moment overnight for our family of 3. Stayed here with our family one night on our way up to Boothbay Harbor. Did not receive a warm welcome from front desk....also, had to pull intormation out of them about places to eat in the area, etc. Room was clean but very plain and the bathroom was small with a miniscule sink. A clean, nice place, however not all rooms of the inn are equal in ammenities or attractiveness. We stayed in 2002, and at that time many of the rooms were outfitted with a hodge-podge of everything from Victorian, to post 1960s era furnishings. Other rooms were more decidedly Victorian.
