Check in was slow, our first room was so dirty that I had to complain immediately and rather than having housekeeping clean the room to even a substandard state we were moved to a small pokey room which could also of been cleaner. We asked if we could pay to be upgraded to a pool view room (as the receptionist... More

My husband and I and a girlfriend have just spent a week here 27th Jan - 3rd Feb. Initially we were not given the type of room we had booked. Although it had a lovely view it was a little shabby. We spoke to Mario, one of the Managers, and on our second day were moved to the kind of... More

Just come back from two weeks at the Halycon Cove by Rex Resort (04/02/2012). We had a wonderful time with very friendly and helpful staff in a Beach Front room to which we were upgraded. The room was comfortable and clean with excellent housekeeping. Any small maintenace problems were very promptly and efficiently dealt with. The food provided in the... More

We have just returned from a perfect 2 week holiday. I just cannot understand bad reviews on this hotel. First impression was a little bit reserved as the buildings appeared a little shabby. After that things were fine, our room was a garden room perfectly comfortable, beds really comfy cleaned every day with new towels when we requested. Good strong... More

Just got back from our 4th visit January/February 2012. All the staff are so friendly even new staff who didn't know us couldn't be more pleasant. We had fantastic rooms it's worth upgrading to the beach ones. For a 3 star hotel this is very good value indeed. I think some people expect 5 star for 3 star prices after... More

This hotel is beautifully situated on the fabulous sandy beach of Dickenson bay. For a 3 star resort the accomodation was of a good standard (we had a poolside room which I think are the best to go for). All inclusive worked very well, drinks were of a good standard and the wine was perfectly drinkable. We dined 4 nights... More

The Halcyon Cove provided a perfect two week holiday for my sister and myself. The rooms were quiet and excellent for sleeping, an important consideration for us, and all seem to be accessible to the beach in swimming costume and bare feet. Both our rooms had a view of the sea and, with their balconies, were pleasant places to be... More

Bear in mind the Halcyon Cove Resort is a three star resort as indicated. However, there are many attributes to this small resort that must be mentioned. The food, though not a large variety, is excellent with a different venue each evening. The omelettes, prepared by Colin, are the best. He takes just that little extra care in preparation. We... I had to write a list on the back of the welcome letter just get the room operating. I am a easy going chap and am willing to give people a chance. I was rewarded with a Quarter Bottle of local Rum and a plate of fruit. BUT - that was just the start of the incompetence. The early morning... More

We were at Halcyon Cove for a week in January 2012. The resort has a great location at the north end of Dickenson Bay. The physical size of the resort is good, not the sprawling size of some resorts like the Sandals property next door. The landscaping is well maintained, the pool was an adequate size and clean, the beach... More
