From the initial contact through to departure we were extrmely well looked after. the staff were well trained, well turned out, courteous and friendly - as one would expect of a well run quality operation. Our room was capacious with a delightfully large comfortable bed, quality furnishings and a bathroom that was adequate rather than a statement, but how much... more

My wife and I have stayed at Ty Mawr 14 times over the last 5 years. Why do we keep returning? Maybe it's the welcome from Annabel or the excellent food cooked by Steve or the wonderful location with lovely peaceful gardens bordered by a river. Whatever our reasons all I know is that to us it’s “simply the best” more

Annabel and Steve - the owners of Ty Mawr - make this beautiful hotel in the heart of Carmarthenshire so special. Annabel is the perfect host - quietly meeting all your needs and advising you on the best places for day trips. While Steve is just the best cook - simple, locally sourced, organic food cooked to the highest standard.... more

What a delight to receive a warm welcome for my Husband, myself & 2 dogs. The downstairs room with own front door was perfect for us and the inside access to the hotel from another door meant we did not have to venture outside before breakfast and evening meal. Our drinks were served in a gorgeous sitting room and the... more

We had a very relaxing stay and particularly enjoyed the garden and the food. The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. It is well worth the extra drive, especially if you take the mountain road. more

Ty Mawr is a small and friendly guest house nestling in one of the Carmathernshire Valleys. With five bedrooms and a dining room for about 14 people, it has a warm, intimate atmosphere which is made special by the hosts Steve and Annabelle (and their dog Portia). The room we stayed in was large, well decorated and clean. The hosts... more

This is a great location to base yourself and discover beautiful Carmarthen. Easy to find and only 20 minutes away from the M4. The local country side is breathtaking the coastal and country walks are a must. The accomadation is fine although no shower in the room we had. The food is of good quality and sourced locally where possible.... more
