This was my second stay (Feb 11-18, 2012) at Captain Don’s. The first was March 2010. My wife and I stayed in the new Deluxe Ocean Front Jr. Suites. I highly recommend this accommodation. They have a small frig, wet bar, microwave and coffee maker. As coffee drinkers, instead of always buying coffee filters on the road, we tossed a... More

(this is a review about the hotel and not the dive operation, which was excellent. We will miss Lutty and Netto and our spacious catamaran "Bonaire Diver", the whales, dolphins and manta ray, the wall and garden combo dive sites, and all the critters. Can't wait to return to Bonaire with my son). We arrived as part of a large... More

Captain Don's was nothing special. The diving was fantastic, but as far as accommodations, I wouldn't stay there again. Aside from the roaches (which are to be expected in that climate), the rooms were clean. We had around 10 rooms for our group and three had to have maintenance in the first day... mostly shower issues. Had we booked the... More

Have to say that I really liked Captain Don's. The place was clean, well laid out, and diving was hassle free. We had a cottage with a kitchen so we saved a ton of money by going grocery shopping as the island isn't well know for its culinary delights. More

We didn't stay at Captain Don's Habitat, but we became locals at the restuarant during our time on Bonaire! Their pizza, pasta & Calamari are delicious! We loved eating out on the patio and seeing the gorgeous view of the stunning blue water and their gorgeous dock! You could see giant Tarpon swimming in the water, and the Iguana's were... More

We recently stayed at Captain Don's for the 3rd time in the last 3 years but when we go back to Bonaire another time, we'll stay somewhere else. Captain Don's has a lot going for it, but the staff is not one of them, particularly at the front desk. Never a smile, never a thank you, always defensive. If they... More

I have been there several times now. In November 2011 the resort was getting a bit tired, and some of the rooms need to be freshened up. But for a week of diving, it is great! It is so easy to dive, eat, sleep. The lockers are convenient. The diving is well set up and easy, both from a boat... More

We went on a week long dive trip to Bonaire with our local dive shop at the end of July 2011. Being a scuba diver, I loved the resort's facilities for diving. You can tell that it has been set up by divers for divers! You walk down to the pier, which has a large area for the dive boats... More

I am a recently certified diver who stayed at Captain Don's in a 2 bedroom bungalow (Room 2021) from July 30-August 6, 2011. The positives have been noted by many visitors, e.g., great diving and dive masters, attentive kitchen staff, beautiful house reef, etc. however this resort is unsafe! On August 1st, during the meet Captain Don mixer at the... More

I have read the reviewer's comments and have the following response. The reviewer is correct that their unit was indeed broken into and the safe along with other valuables were taken. He is also correct that I did provide him with a letter stating that Habitat would make up the difference in the event our insurance company did not completely... More

Let me start by saying, if you are in Bonaire, you aRe here to dive...not sight see on the mainland so much. Although there are some interesting sights for sure! Anyway Captain Dons has excellent dive facilities, dive asters, boats etc. The resort itself...the old rooms and 2 bedrooms...rustic is being kind. Our bathroom had one window, we had to... More
