First i was a little bit afraid, what i could expect, since i read some bad reviews about this hotel. But fortunately, our room was great with i nice view ( right in front of the Old Theatre), and clean. We met nice staff, also the hotel had a good and friendly security staff. We only had breakfast, which was... more

The location of Inglaterra is unbeatable, situated in the heart of Old Havana. A short stroll right brings you to the Capitol Building, with Partagas cigar factory around the corner. Turn left and you're taken to the Revloution Museum and straight over the square you can find el floridita for the perfect daiquari! even the havana club is within walking... more

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights before continuing holiday in Varadero. Good points - it has a great location! Close to most sights and lots of restaurants around. But that's about where it ends. Firstly, I would class this as a 2 star hotel. We arrived in the evening and were shown to our room. It was tiny and... more

“We loved our stay at this hotel in Havana (December 08). Though some people have complained that it is a bit dated, we thought it was a fine example of how a hotel would have looked in Havana in the fifties. It is very grand with excellent décor. Our room was really nice with a great view of the city.... more

We booked into the Inglaterra as part of a two-centre package holiday (we spent four nights in Havana and 10 in Varadero) so didn't have any choice over our Havana hotel. While it is stunning from the outside and in an excellent location, it has no business calling itself a four star hotel. The main problems were the unfriendly staff... more

We had booked a 4 night stay at this so-called 4 star hotel and it had the potential to ruin our holiday. The place is in need of a complete overhaul and that includes the receptionist staff who chose to not 'understand english' when we tried to explain our concerns and need for a better standard of accommodation. Basic issues... more

I only actually visited rather than stayed in Hotel Inglaterra in April 2009 but encountered the rudest, least professional reception staff I have come across while visiting 80 countries worldwide and staying in thousands of places. I have just written to the management of the Gran Caribe group, which owns the hotel, making the same complaint. I won't bore you... more

Some of the bad reviews on here do have a point, but we paid the price of a budget hotel and found that it was perfectly fine. The hotel is fairly tired, and the bathrooms could definitely do with a facelift, but the location is fantastic. Breakfast was nothing special but we had plenty to eat. It's basic, but if... more
