I can recommend this hotel and it is good hotel for reasonable value. We booked via holidayplace and except the common tipping everyone in the hotel (which is normal in the whole country) I can only complain about broken toilet which did not flush. Rooms were big and clean, we requested ocean view and got it. Breakfast was big, lots... more

My husband & I stayed here for three nights as part of a tour. The hotel was reasonably clean but rather run down. The food was very average with little choice for vegetarians and the staff were not prepared to rustle up as much as an omlette on the evening when they shut the main restaraunt. The vegetarian chice was... more

We stayed at this hotel as part of the Thomas Cook Classical Cuba Tour. The location of this hotel was very poor - if you want to go into the old town to see the best of Havana you will need to get a taxi. The restaurant is more like a school dining hall and the staff are rude and... more

Stayed here for 3 nights on Thomas Cook tour. Poor first impressions with filthy carpets in the corridors especially in the area round the lifts. Found the room air conditioning leaking on arrival, but this was rectified speedily. Otherwise we were fairly fortunate with the room, which overlooked the city. The room was refurbished and comfortable with little noise intrusion.... more

When I checked in, the room was smelling really bad, the TV was not working and there was some kind of recreational work taking place just out of my window, so I went to the reception and asked for a new room. The new room was better but it did smell rather bad as well. The plump was broken, the... more

I stayed there from 2nd to 5th July. I went with Spanish people but I'm Portuguese. I had a great stay. After being 9.30h inside an airplane and 5 hours waiting in the airport at Madrid I arrived at Havana. Surprisingly after reading all the reviews where, I liked the hotel and lots of people from my flight stayed there.... more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as part of the Thomas Cook cuba tour. We were a little concerned about the extensive building work at the hotel. We were woken at 7am by the builders banging and scraping cement from our windows. Our curtain rail was hanging off and the builders could see us in our room, complete... more

I'm guessing that prior to the "triumph of the revolution", the Presidente was a stunning and beautiful hotel. Today, one can see a glimmer of the elegant past, but one can also see a lot of neglect and a desperate need for maintenance and repair. The hotel is in a good location, just a couple of blocks from the malecon,... more

If you get a good deal it's fine. A bit out the centre, large and impersonal, but there was nothing to complain about (apart from the nailed closed room windows). Rate the rooms at 1*, the hotel at 2*. Some good music in the bar lounge area in the evenings. more

My Mom and I stayed here overnight as part of a tour of Havana. We were amazed how fast they checked in a full bus of people. We stayed on 3rd floor. Only 1 of the 2 elevator works, but you didn't wait long. The room was VERY musty/damp when we first opened door.. but once we opened windows it... more
