Two well-travelled prairie couples stayed at the Mercure Sevilla for a week in January. The location is in the middle of all the action in old Havana. It is adjacent to the "Prado" walk that leads down to the sea, and next to the Revolution Museum, (which leaves one asking - how did the Cubans ever succeed?) The Sevilla is... More

We stayed 3 nights in the Hotel Sevilla. Beautiful, historic hotel. Noisy area due to overlooking Prado but the windows kept out the noise and the AC was quiet. Very good staff. Decent restaurant but, like most of Cuba, the best food is at the paladars. The 9th floor dining room for breakfast was a highlight. Probably one of the... More

A beautiful building but the rooms are tired. The serivice at the front desk, reception bar and breakfast room was very un welcoming and unhelpful. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms were clean and it was nice to have a pool to relax by if you are in need of a day off the city tourit trail.... More

Having stayed at the Mercure Sevilla hotel in Havana - I would not agree that this was 4 star. We booked through Solitair Holidays - I know now a bad move - be warned of this company. Mercure Sevilla gave us so called 4 star rooms with views of walls - literally no light coming into the rooms - very... More

Stayed here for 2 nights at the start of a three week trip to Cuba. Arrived immediately after 10 hour flight from London. Immediately impression was of an old colonial hotel somewhat faded over the years - potentially a rather interesting introduction to Cuba we thought. However things started to go rapidly downhill once we got to out room. On... More

A lovely old building, staff typically Cuban (very friendly, but rather unenthusiastic). Rooms a little tired, but full of character. The hotel's location is perfect-on the edge of the old town, and not too far from the sea-front. Leave any preconceptions or expectations of super-luxury behind, and you'll have a great time. More

Hotel Sevilla is a beautiful turn of the century hotel with a Moorish ornate facade and ceramic tiles decorating the spacious lobby. It is now under the French chain Accor and quite a few of the staff speak French. You will be walking in the footsteps of Fidel Castro and Al Capone, and Graham Greene's "Our Man in Havana" was... Nice hotel, full of character. My room was huge and very nice. Location is also great for exploring centro and old Havana. Not sure why people complained about the staff. With the exception of a few bar staff everyone was friendly and helpful. More

Stayed for 3 nights in Havana and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Location was perfect ! walking distance from museums, the malecon, the capitol, chinatown, la bodeguita del medio, etc... Our room was big with very high ceilings and with a nice view of the city. I like that the hotel kept that old style decor, in the room... More
