Don't understand how anyone can gripe about this hotel. Set in nice area, clean, comfortable. Air conditioning is so quiet that you can leave it on all night - and I'm a light sleeper. It is very big and very busy. Buufet food is warm/cold but you can get hot food cooked to order at chef stations. Excellent pool facilities.... More

Very large hotel, full of tour groups. Situated in a good class residential area about 12 km from the centre of Havana - good location if you are being taken everywhere by tour coach, but not so convenient if you want to get into the centre of Havana yourself as you have to take a taxi - cost about £7... In comparison to some of the hotels we stayed in Cuba this place was a palace! We stayed here for the first and last nights of a cycling tour and it was OK. Our room was fine, clean and pretty up to date. The hallway could have done with an update but it was perfectly acceptable. We had two good... More

We visited this hotel as part of a tour of Cuba and were rather wary given previous comments. We need not have worried it was fine. The corridors are rather drab but our room No. 466 was big, bright & clean. The food was acceptable and plentiful although perhaps the choice was not to all western tastes. The hotel is... More

Only stayed for one night as we were staying elsewhere in Varadero for a beach holiday with Virgin. They put us up here for our last night as we were seeing the Tropicana show and spent our last day in Havana. The buffet is very limited and the food of poor quality. The room is gaudy looking with 2 beds... More

We stayed here starting & finishing a cycle tour. Whilst I understand that Cuba is a poor country, without doubt this was the worst Hotel we stayed in our two weeks in Cuba. Most has been said in previous reviews, here's a few other points; - Our pre-booked room wasn't ready at check in ( 6.30pm! ) - Location poor... More

We stayed at this hotel for a week back in September 2011. Because we were visiting relatives in Havana and were fortunate enough to have home-cooked meals. Based on some of these reviews, it seems we didn't miss out on much. This hotel was basically in the location we wanted and was a place for us to sleep. We were... More

An awful experience from check in to check out. No way were they going to let us in to our rooms before the 4pm watershed; we tried to store our bags in the locker room but Sasha the lockerroom man was having none of it! A stand up row between him and the front desk head ensued meaning we had... More

We stayed here on the first and last nights of a 2-week cycling tour. Most of my points have been covered by others recently: Mattresses appear to vary, because the first night it was unbearably thin/hard, but the next time it seemed much more comfortable - though by then perhaps I was accustomed to what was generally available in Cuba.... We stayed here on the last night of our holiday as we booked the overnight Havana tour. The lobby was nice but the rest was a disaster. As soon as you left the lobby and got the lift to your room floor, it was dark, dingy, grubby, dirty and smelly. The bed was a joke with the thinnest mattress ever... More
