This was my first time in Cuba and let me say, it will definitely not be my last! The hotel is older as are many of the hotels in the Varadero area, but it is very well kept. We spent a week at the Sol Palmeras at the end of October and we had an amazing time. Our rooms were clean and our maid was a darling, the Air conditioning in our room were in perfect working condition so much that with it on high I had to sleep with a thick blanket. We ate at the buffet... more
We travelled with Thomson who got us off to a good start with a very good flight and checking us in on the coach so we could go straight to our rooms. The hotel is lovely, a bit old but all italian marble and on the whole very clean. The rooms were very comfortable with water provided for the fridge... more
I was at Sol Palmeras September 10 to 17. It was my fourth time there only this time by myself. I totally enjoyed my week that went so quickly. It is a safe and beautiful place and can hardly wait to go again. Thank you. more

We just returned Mon.Nov.2nd from a 2wk stay at the Sol Palmeras Resort in Varadero.This is a l9yr old Resort,so mature trees abound. We had a 2 bedroom Bungalow,with all amenities. I don't usually write reviews but this hotel certainly deserves positive feedback. Rated against the difficulties experienced in Cuba with food quality and other provisions Europeans take for granted, this certainly has exceeded expectations.
