My wife and I arrived on April 23, 2013. First impressions of the Reception Desk were a concern until we discovered that it was being renovated. Our room had two 3/4 beds, which was a little disappointing as we had hoped for a king bed, but we weren't there for the room. The beds were a little firm by our... More

We booked from May 4-11 for a group of 23 for our wedding. This being our first time we went by the advice of our travel agent. Check in was long and quite a process. We arrived at 11:30 and some of the rooms were ready the others we were advised would be ready by 4. They divided our party... More

Stayed here between the 30th April and 9th May 2013 and I had a lovely time. There were a few minor quirks, but I figured that was the charm of Cuba. My only annoyance was regarding the windsurfing; the lessons are free and part of hotel package. I had never done this before and figured it would be fun to... More

No idea how they got 5 stars, but the standard in Cuba in general is not the same as in other countries. The infrastructure is so far ok, they do their best to keep it maintained. Not a easy thing in a country where it's very difficult to find replacements. The quality of food is far below of what you... More

My husband and I stayed at the Melia from April16-23. Overall, I thought the resort was lovely. The grounds are beautiful with mature trees and lots of shade. The shrubs and flowers were so colorful and the grounds were clean and well kept. The beach was amazing! We walked the beach everyday and I found lots of beautiful shells and... More

Plane was delayed by 6 hours, so we arrived at 5am, check in went smoothly. Room was very dated-the whole place is badly in need of repairs- which they are working on. Food was bland- lots of it- we didn't starve but ate the same things every day. Went to 3 restaurants- Japanese was amazing!! French and Italian were awful.... More

We've stayed at Melia Peninsula the past 6 years. Each year we come back to enjoy the wonderful quiet week away....great (hot) weather (mid April), walking the beautiful grounds, listening to Cuban music often at La Laguna (at lunch), enjoying the beach, and the shade and breeze of the "Island bar". For a resort that's about 12 years old, Melia... More

This was my first trip to Cuba. I did lots of research before picking this hotel and want to give other travellers some useful information to help them make a decision. The resort grounds are beautiful. Gardeners are out every single morning taking care of the landscaping which is very well maintained. The hotel is composed of smaller, 2 or... More

All inclusive - so good value but quality of food and service weren't great. If you are going to veradero and like to do things - book lots of trips as the resort can close in on you. Especially when most of the 1100 are French speaking Canadians and like most lazy Brits I don't remember much French from school!... More

This was my 10th trip to Cuba and I am pretty realistic about what to expect.....so-so food, getting up early to get beach loungers etc.....a 5 star in cuba maybe a 3 star here. I know that, the best part is the beach and I am fine with that I go to unwind. However I was shocked at the attitude... More
