I stayed here a bit more than a week with a friend. This is a very fun, laid back place to stay in Dominica. The property sits several hundred feet above the sea at the edge of a cliff, so don't expect access to the sea. Or a working swimming pool. This place is frequented mostly be travelers for whom... The Stonedge cabins are located on an amazing cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The amenities are basic but adequate, about what you would expect for the price. Didier, the owner, is a friendly guy who is willing to give advice on where to go and how to get there. Dinah, his girlfriend (?) seems genuinely nice. If you are on... More

I stayed at Stonedge Hotel Jan 20-28 '07. It was my second stay at this hotel. I would happily go back today. At Stonedge you can expect basic, rustic accommodation. Water conservation is a must at this hotel so it is not the best choice for two shower a day people. Bring bio degradable soap and try a river bath. The... More

At $16.50 US per night each person, Stonedge is the best value on Dominica, in the opinion of a second time visitor to the island. Didier is a dedicated, accommodating and attentive host, one who is always willing to provide service to all his guests, in any way he possibly can. As the Stonedge website advises "snobs and maniacs not... More

Thanks Didier for your welcome. I really enjoyed my time in this so special place. The bungalows are nice, well equipped (shower and toilet in each bungalow) and the view is priceless... Thanks also Didier to give me a ride to "Chez La Doudou" (great place to Dive) and to take me back. He's definitely not a "lazy host". He... More

Ok, the breakfast was good. But you know something's wrong when the owner of the place you're staying exclaims, "I had a good day! No one came." That about sums up his additude towards us as guests. We requested a mosquito net, standard in even the basic b&bs in Dominica. He said he had one, but wouldn't get it for... More

Lodging: very cute little yellow and blue houses, or more demure rooms in the main house, my bungalow (if thats the word for them) had a bunk bed, mosquito nets available for free, as is a fan (these will keep you bite-free), no AC, no hot water (this is unecessary and wasteful in Dominica), your own shower, toilet, and sink... Excellent for the budget eco travler looking for a quiet place with a great host. Accomadation consists of five basic cottages overlooking the ocean and a couple of other rooms inside a main larger building. Everything is clean and well maintained but rustic. The property is only a few years old but has alot of character and the setting in... More
