I just spent four days at the Hotel Las Salinas, and have an associate there for another week even as I type. It's an absolutely charming small hotel with fantastic bay views, large rooms (although some things don't always work- such as hot water, sometimes the AC, etc) but in reality these are small things. “off the beaten path in the Dominican Republic”

The Las Salinas is definitely in a third world country. Hot water is not always available. No paper in the toilet etc. However, the owners are wonderful and very attentive. The food is wonderful although takes forever to come. The paella is amazing and loaded with lobster,, shrimp and whatever fresh fish is available. The rooms are large and overlook... More
