Hotel Abyta is by far the best hotel I've stayed in. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but once inside, your blown away with the design and structure of the place. Upgrade to their comfort suite if possible. Silvio, an italian gentleman, who is the owner and works in the mornings lives in an apartment within the hotel so he's always there and manages the place very well. The location is perfect, just 2-3 blocks down from El Conde and right around the corner from Colons' house and the local bars. There's a colmado(store) right across the street so if you crave anything at night you don't have to go far. Plus it's guest friendly. Tell him you know Robert Taveras and see if that helps, he gave me a discount since I stayed there a couple times before. Great place for singles, couples, family, can't recommend it enough.
