I dont often write reviews but after my recent trip to this hotel i felt compelled to warn others of the experiences i encountered so they werent as disappointed as i was. There are so many problems with this hotel it is hard to know where to begin. When i arrived at the hotel check-in there was a huge line... more

My wife and I traveled on Feb. 11 thru 16 and stayed here. We arrived late Wednesday night and check in went fairly smooth. Keep in mind we arrived with the mindset that a vacation is what you make of it, and we certainly didn't expect 5 stars, but for the money we spent we did expect more. So we... more

This hotel is located in slums of Boca Chica. It's advisable to not leave the resort area by foot. Santo Domingo is about 30 minutes away. A cab ride to la zona colonial will run you about $45. The resort itself for the most part is nice. English is a minority for those visiting. Most guests are from Spain, France,... more

Stayed at Hamaca (visit #10) from Jan. 24/09 to Feb. 7/09, arrived at night (10 pm), check-in was prompt and bell captain quickly assigned porter to take us to our room. Accommodation was in Block 17 (Gardens 3) which has been renovated in the last year. On one of our previous visits we have stayed in this building and the... more

I stopped reading the posted reviews for this hotel a week before departure and was really nervous. I thought we signed up for a disaster. We were travelling with another family and there were 7 of us total. This was our first vacation with my 3 year old. Let me start by saying that my fears were for nothing! This... more

this is a 3 star at best. Selloffvacations rated it as a 4 star? The food is OK, nothing more. The beach bar was open 24 hours a day, which I have not seen at an all inclusive before. No problem getting strong drinks. Would recommend doing the upgrade from the standard garden view room, but expect to pay $30.00... more

Reasonably nice resort, but I expected much more for the price. The bartenders were friendly and mixed strong drinks, and the resort had a good festive vibe. The food was standard cafeteria fare with free wine that was barely drinkable (and I like wine that comes out of a box!). The room was a typical mid-range hotel room. Was all... more

My wife and I just returned from the Oasis Hamaca in Boca Chica. Many of the negative experiences are due to the fact that there are many rooms not yet renovated. If you get stuck with one of these rooms, ask to be moved. They will try to move you but be prepared for some run around at the front... more

Our first time in Dominican, only had been to Varedero a couple of times. After looking at the reviews for this hotel and the advice from my agent, I thought we would give it a try. ROOMS and CUSTOMER SERVICE: The bad reviews on here are based (I am assuming) on the hotel units away from the beach, across the... more
