It's better than the pictures. Beautiful, clean, and charming hotel in the heart of historic Santo Domingo. Exceptional staff, light-filled open-air cafe area with free breakfast, roof with loungey beds and great views, and excellent safety including your own personal door code and a police station literally next door. Yep. This was perfect.

Marble floors, very friendly staff, cute dogs and freshly made breakfast in the morning. Rooms had a TV and AC. The only frustration was our safe did not work and never got fixed. There are signs everywhere telling you that "things can be stolen"

I have traveled to the Dominican Republic for the last 8 years due to work related activity. After a 1 1/2 year gap of not traveling to DR I just returned recently and staying again in the Atarazana Hotel felt like returning back home!

This boutique hotel has everything that a large hotel would offer, however in a smaller, more personalised setting. It is only a block away (2 mins walk) from the main street with shopping, FANTASTIC restaurants, tourist attractions etc. There is 6 BEAUTIFUL rooms in this hotel, all with modern decor and facilities. Stayed 2 nights in March 2012. Great location, walking distance to everything. right near Colon house and 5-6 great restaurants and bars ( 1 minute walk) Pirate restaurent highly recomended.
