I stayed in Santo Domingo for seven nights in May 2013, and chose Hotel Atarazana as my lodging option based on the Lonely Planet Dominican Republic and Haiti write-up of the hotel, as well as the many positive reviews former guests have written here on TripAdvisor. Electronic communication with the hotel personnel was fast and efficient, with my e-mails answered... More

I stayed in Atarazana on recommendation by a friend and he was right this is one of the best boutique hotels in Zona Colonial. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the location by Plaza de Espana is great as there is a choice of some good restaurants and bars. Just around the corner if carry on down the street... More

I was in Santo Domingo for one night with my wife, coming back from Las Terrenas, and we had just a few hours to discover the historical part of the city. This hotel was defiantly a great choice: in the heart of the touristic part of old Santo Domingo, right by a police station, and very well kept. The rooftop... More

This is our first time in the DR, and we were so happy to have found this place to start our trip! The owners and staff were super helpful and friendly, it is clean and the included breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!

I am from Santo Domingo, so when I've visited in the past I would just stay at my parents place, but since then they've moved to the states permanently, so when my husband and I visited here, we wanted to stay somewhere nice but affordable. Boy did we luck out! We stayed for 3 nights and it was such a... More

This is a small boutique hotel, with only 6 rooms. the room originally assigned to me had a broken mirror (glass all over the floor), so the owner moved me into another room--was very charming, with nice artistic touches. Located in a good area especially for someone who likes to walk and explore. The staff is great and really accommodating.... More

Small charming and friendly hotel. The food was great the service was exceptional, the rooms were very clean and it just felt good to be there. The energy and the comfort of the staff and the entire enviornment was highly exceptional! I wish I could have stayed longer than one night.

If you are looking for a big American style hotel, Hotel Atarazana is NOT for you. If, however, you're looking for a small unique hotel central to the Zona Colonial, this place IS for you. The rooms are small (European style), but very clean and attractive. It's right next to a police station, and it is in a safe area.The... More

I stayed at the hotel based upon the TripAdvisor rating. It's a great choice for an economical stay in Santo Domingo. The common areas are very nicely decorated, the wifi is strong, the breakfast tasty, and the rooms comfortable. Mine had a nice little balcony off the back which I used for an afternoon of book reading. If you like... More
