We just returned on Saturday from this resort.. It is very beautiful, the staff was helpful, the bartenders were nice. I just came back from the hotel and the food was terrible. I have been to several hotels in the DR, and this has been the worst in terms of food/drink. No international drinks (only generic Classico, Normandy and Royal drinks) and the cheapest Barcelo Rum (Dorado). Presidente beer is great but all dominican hotels offer it. The place is beautiful... But on our last night there ... someone tried to break into our room while we were in bed.. really scary. We could not sleep the rest of the night. Never again!!! more

The staff was very friendly, although I'd read a few complaints from some folks who had some language communication issues: we had no problems (my Spanish is very limited-but I did bring a pocket translation dictionary and never needed it).
