We had a whirlpool suite with a huge bed, a comfortable seating area, plenty of storage, a nicely sized and appointed bathroom (the toiletries are of good quality and are replenished so you don't need to bring your own shampoo/conditioner/shower gel) and a good sized balcony with a lovely view across the gardens to the sea. There is air conditioning... more

We wrote are view in December 2006 and at the time we said that the acid test of any holiday was would you go back again. Well we have returned and again we had a thoroughly enjoyable time and it is very difficult to improve on the comments that we made before. There are a few new faces among the... more

This is as good as it gets in hotel terms and would I would imagine that the Calabash would be granted Relais and Chateaux membership were it to be applied for. The quality of service is very high but discrete. The facilities are exactly right for the style aimed for by the owner. There are only 30 villas and the... more

We have stayed at the Calabash three times (pre and post Ivan) and I would go back there in a flash! We stayed in a Whirlpool Suite which was very well proportioned. The sitting room, bathroom and bedroom are all huge and there is a walk in wardrobe with loads of hanging space and shelving. The staff are wonderful. Having... more

We stayed at The Calabash mid-December and had a lovely time. From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The location on Prickly Bay is beautiful, the setting is very peaceful, the grounds and entire hotel are clean, comfortable and very well-maintained. The rooms are large and comfortable, with good... more

The Calabash is nothing less then perfection. From the moment you arrive at reception, you are treated as an honored guest, and everyone on staff goes that extra mile to ensure your complete satisfaction. The suites are large, bright, and tastefully decorated in a modern Island theme. Your own maid appears every morning to serve you breakfast on your private... more

We loved the Calabash. Ignore people who have an axe to grind or who didn't even stay there, it's full of charm and the staff are all wonderful. It's possible the rooms could be a bit more modern but they suited us perfectly. We had a pool suite. I have some walking difficaulties, but this was at ground level and... more

This is an excellent hotel if you want a quiet time in civilised surroundings. Imagine a botanical garden set on a Caribbean beach with some discreetly set villas that have aged nicely. If you want 'entertainment' in the evening or toga parties or honeymooners' competitions this will not be the place for you. Service is good as is the food... more

The Calabash is a quiet, select and upmarket hotel set in gardens overlooking the beach. The suites are nicely appointed with contemporary furnishings and all have a sea view. The level of service is excellent, with the staff being friendly and caring at all times. However, it is in no way snooty or pretentious and we enjoyed our stay there.... more

Just came back from staying at the Calabash hotel, what a lovely relaxing time we had, when we arrived we were greeted from the taxi and was given the key and shown to room by Sophie even though we arrived early at 13:00, the suite was large and airy, lovely bright clean, we had a massive patio where we had... more
