I will never stay in another place when I go to Port-Au-Prince. I felt safe, welcomed and more like part of the family than a guest. The boys who live at the house are a delight. The food delicious and safe. Michael, the owner, is an amazing man with a huge heart for not only the boys that he is... more

First, check your American standards at the door. The accomodations are primitive, but outstanding considering it's located in a severely underdeveloped country. St. Joseph's is a boys home where former street children are raised in a loving, safe, and exhorting environment. To further their ministry, they run this guest house. Your money goes to this fabulous cause and you're treated... more

I spent three months in some of the most dangerous favelas in Sao Paolo, Brazil (highest murder rate of any country in the world) and rarely felt in danger because it is such a multicultural country. Not so in Haiti. The entire week I was there I saw a grand total of seven other "blancs" while travelling extensively throughout the... more

I stayed at St. Joe's headed to and from a volunteer stint doing disaster relief work in Gonaives. The rooms are fine, the food is great, and the Home and the boys make for quite a special experience. I contacted them directly at [-] and arranged the room and airport pickup. Note: they have their own blend of really great... more

My friend and I had planned to go to Wings of Hope and ST Joseph's home for boys for a 4 day mission trip knowing we would come out of Haiti better then going in. Our visit to the 2 homes were during the food riots. We were very nervous about going during this time for our safety. We email... more

Michael and the boys maintain an oaisis in PAP! Michael is an excellent cook and an even better host. If you have an oppourtunity to attend a Sunday morning church service or see the boys show don't miss it! more

We stayed at St. Joseph's with a mission group in December. It was an amazing place to spend our week in Haiti. The facility was much more beautiful than we had expected - very tropical with incredible local art everywhere. We spent a lot of time on the rooftop at night. The views and the fresh breezes were incredible. The... more

the St. Joseph Home for Boys is a wonderful place to stay. It is the best alternative to overly expensive hotels in Port au Prince and nowhere else will you get to meet such wonderful children who once lived on the streets. the home is personalbe and love pervades every inch of the program. I would recommend any church group... more

St. Joseph Home for Boys is a home away from home. I loved visiting there as well as Wings for Hope and Trinity House. They all are special in their own ways and wonderful places to visit. If you visit these homes you will come back a changed person. I have been down to Haiti twice and I plan on... more
