Firstly, I cannot disagree more with the previously posted reviews. I stayed at the Riu Tropical Bay in April 2008 with my husband, my baby daughter and our parents and we had an amazing time. We actually got married at the Riu Tropical Bay on the beach and it was more romantic and special than I would have hoped for.... more

Stayed there 2 weeks ago with spouse and friends. We had and excellent time and this hotel is definitelly recommended in our opinion. The good: beach, staff, buffet The bad: small pool, restaurants reserve system, each bartender seems to have his own way of doing them though the name is the same... :) more

Having stayed at the Tropical Bay on 3 previous occasions we decided to see if any improvements had been made now it has changed to a Palace. We chose this hotel on the basis of the trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Actually, this hotel deserves better than its overall rating in Negril suggests. I would say DO NOT GO to this hotel. Why? Food - awful, frozen (even in ala carte restaurants), boring, not good quality Restaurants - actual cockroaches in restaurants; need I say more? Have to queue to book ala carte restaurants, and limited places too! Beach - noisey and people selling drugs on the beach, so not at all relaxing.... more
