Hosteria del Mar is beautifully situated on the beach and features a surf side indoor/outdoor restaurant that gets you about as close to the water as possible. I just stayed in Hosteria del Mar for nine days and it was a very pleasant experience. I did not get a beach front room but one in the second floor which was quiet and very clean and everything worked just perfectly. The room was recently painted and was quite spacious. The same day we arrived we were told our room was unavailable and they had relocated us at a private residence back patio apartment. We stayed here for two nights and had a very enjoyable stay. The restaurant is wonderful...it makes you feel like you're on a tropical island from the tiki-style set-up of the area. I was going to stay at Hosteria Del mar but was scared off by bad reviews on Trip Advisor. The wonderful owner, Elsie, was sorry I cancelled and invited me to lunch, on the house, to see the place.
