I just returned from a week long trip to Puerto Rico yesterday. One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the island of Vieques. We stayed in the Tropical Guest House on the north end of the island and I confidently recommend others stay there, as well. Upon arriving, the owners Maria and Joe welcomed us with our choice... This couple owned and run business is anything but ordinary. The building has an authentic appeal, minimal but stylish vibe. This is NOT the W and if that makes u smile like it does to me then keep reading. On a budget and want th give back to people that live in vieques, than look no further. Maria and Joe,... More

The Tropical Guest House was great. The room was a good price, it was very clean and the rooms were spacious. There was new packets of soap, clean towels and sheets, cold air conditioning and a working TV. There was a bar downstairs (complimentary drink when we got in) and the staff was amazing. They helped us in getting places... More

It's a great place to stay if your traveling on a budget. Rooms are clean and the service is excellent. They'll help you make the reservations to go and visit the Bio Bay, they'll put you in contact with trusted taxi drivers that can be available for you around the clock and I you need any other help regarding any... I'll preface this by saying this is a bare bones hotel/guest house. Don't expect to get the frills and updated features of a fancy hotel. But this is also Vieques- you're on a rather modest/poor island with wild ponies running around. It's a gorgeous island, not yet destroyed by large hotels, so keep in mind that you're going to be... This Guest House was BAD!! The people who ran it was very nice and met us there to check in. The windows had plastic over them so you could not get fresh air. It rained the night we stayed and we woke up to a soaked bed because water ran in from the hole in the ceiling where the light... More

I am truly sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay at the Tropical Guest House. We take pride in making our guests feel at home. We have been experiencing heavy rain, hurricanes, tropical storms etc., more than usual for our hurricane season. Measures will be taken to assure that this won't happen again. Thanks again for your review, and coming... More

We only stayed for a night. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The rooms were clean. The staff was very attentive. You feel like you're part of the family. There are a lot of places to eat near by. There is also a small convenient store right across the street from the guest house. More
