I'm not even sure it's possible to accurately convey the magic and perfection of this property in a TA review. Words fail me. Pictures are nice but also completely insufficient. Please trust me when I tell you this is HANDS DOWN the BEST LUXURY property in the Caribbean, possibly in North America, possibly in the world. If you have an opportunity to visit St. Barth's and stay at a luxury property, staying at any other hotel is a big mistake. Nothing comes close to Eden Rock. Location: I will never be convinced that the beach right in front of Eden Rock is the not the nicest beach in St. Bart's. The water is calm and the most postcard-perfect shade of turquoise you could ever dream of. There is a reason every picture of this beach always shows people frolicking in the water. It's literally a PERFECT BEACH with perfect water. And the beautiful giant rock that anchors the property... you'll never get tired of that view. As a bonus, there are lots of great little shops in St. Jean, right next to the hotel, with an impressive selection of clothes, cute/fun souvenirs, bars/restaurants, a very well-equipped pharmacie, ATM, etc. And, it's very close to Gustavia and the airport. Nothing too crowded or touristy. Rooms: We won the upgrade lottery and the hotel honored us with a stay in one of their signature villas. I'm still in a state of shock over our good fortune. Without actually winning the lottery, I will likely never stay in such opulence again. But the hotel makes every guest, in every room, feel like royalty. No detail is overlooked. From the 'toiletries'. to the 'gifts' they leave each evening, to the bed linens, to the slippers, this is a hotel that really cares about and cares for its guests. I honestly would feel honored to spend a night on one of their beach loungers. I don't want to spoil the special treats they bestow upon all of their guests... just be prepared to be just as impressed by their thoughtfulness. Service: Please share this with the GM so he can read how much we adored Giovanni and Chloe. They treated us like old friends, always so kind, warm, welcoming and accommodating. Eden Rock is incredibly lucky to have them, and we'd all return to the hotel just for the honor of spending time with our beloved Giovanni and Chloe. Not only did they say YES to every request, but they really insisted on making sure everything was perfect for us. The restaurant staff (I wish I knew more names) were also a delight, so pleasant and cheery. And the Beach Boys/Beach Ladies were beyond perfect, ready to help with a raft or paddle board or extra towel or more water or another frose... and always with such a genuine and happy spirit. Housekeeping was impeccable and made us feel like a million bucks every night at turndown and every day when we returned to a beautifully cared for room. Food & Drinks: This is typically where hotels in the Caribbean fall part. St. Barth's is in a totally different category, however, and Eden Rock is no exception. Breakfast is a more modest affair, with a simple (elegant) 'buffet' and a nice variety of made-to-order specialties. This is not a place of excess and all-you-can-eat overindulgence (thank God). We ate lunch multiple times at the beach and the food was superb. We're still dreaming about the cheeseburger and the avocado pizza. Dinner at Sandbar was also very, very special. Like many before us, we fell in love with the Froses and insisted on having one every day (sometimes 2 or 3). We also had perfectly made Skinny Margaritas (difficult to master) and a few too many Banana Coladas (order with an extra rum floater!). Value: I have to make mention of the 'value' at Eden Rock. When I looked at booking this hotel, I was a bit concerned about the prices and wondered 'is it really worth it?'. The answer is not only HECK YES, but I'd probably pay even more than their current rates for the pleasure of staying here. This is such a magical place with so many 'extras' and special touches that you will likely agree it's money very well spent. I'm already starting to plan our return trip for next May. When it comes to Eden Rock, I really can't get enough. Thank you to every Eden Rocker for making this the best trip of our lives!…
