We needed a break away from the office in March and this was the most wonderful week. Montpelier Plantation Inn is a haven of luxury and peace with delightful owners and staff and wonderful food. Its location within acres of grounds was beautiful and the general service was excellent. The pool with the sugarmill overlooking it was a lovely place... more
I've been meaning to submit my review of this magical place for several months. My husband and I stayed at Montpelier in late July of last year after business took us briefly to Puerto Rico (first time to the Caribbean for both of us). Not only was carefree Nevis the perfect antidote to crazy Puerto Rico, but Montpelier provided us... more
This is a wonderful small retreat of a hotel with real charm, set around an old plantation house. As with other reviews the service was excellent, the inn is so small everyone knows your name and you never need to bother to sign for anything. This really makes it relaxing. The food was good especially for the Caribbean and overall... more
My wife and I stayed at the Montpelier the 2nd week in Dec 07. We had never been to Nevis and I decided to stay at 2 different places on the island so we could see as much as possible. Everywhere I researched recommended the Montpelier as a spectacular plantation inn. Trip advisor also contained rave reviews. The Inn was... more
My stay this past summer in Nevis was my third - so obviously, I like the island quite a bit. It's quiet, serene, and beautiful. The people are friendly. The isolated, palm-lined beaches with Mt. Nevis looming in the background are nothing short of idyllic. In the past, I have stayed at the Old Manor hotel and at Nisbet. This... more
The Montpelier Plantation Inn is a gorgeous and magical place. My husband just returned from a 4-night trip and absolutely fell in love. The staff and owners are fabulous! We absolutely loved the grounds and were quite amused by Calpso and Rudder, the dogs who roam the plantation and often stopped by our room to say hello. We ate breakfast... more
My husband and I had 5-night stay at Montpelier in April. Here is our impression of the inn. Highs: · Not glitzy, but civilized, refined and understated atmosphere rarely generated by American-type up market tropical resorts. · Elegant but unpretentious dinner in both Terrace and Mill restaurants. · Gracious and genial owners, the Hoffmans, and friendly staff who address each... more
I just returned from my honeymoon at the Montpelier Plantation Inn. Since full trip reports on TripAdvisor were most helpful to me when I was planning my honeymoon, I have written a short novel to give you some information about the hotel and the island - email me if you still have any questions. Travel Day: We arrived at Montpelier... more
My husband and I just spent our honeymoon at Montpelier and are determined to return soon. Our main reasons for chosing Nevis and Montpelier were the recommendations for excellent service, gourmet food, and privacy. We were not disappointed. We had a chance to try the island's own bread fruit and a scrumptious dessert with a passion fruit coulis. The Chef... more
