Paradise Point is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing, less "touristy" island experience. The gorgeous, well-appointed villas overlook the ocean and the lush hillside foliage, and all have full kitchens, decks and private baths. Although you do require a car to go to the local eateries, beaches and bars, the trade-off is that you get far more privacy and peace than you would at a “Club Med”-type resort. Porridge, the caretaker, is friendly and helpful, and will ensure that you get an authentic taste of Tobago. Finally, although you’re going to see a couple of critters any time you visit the tropics, I certainly didn’t find my room overrun with geckos (or anything else, for that matter). I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Paradise Point Villas, and plan to return next year.
