To put this review in context, my husband and I are seasoned travellers in our late 40's who expect a high standard of customer service wherever we go. We booked the Blue Haven amidst very mixed reviews. We went with an open mind and hoped that the researching that we always do before booking a holiday would once again pay... more

I’ve just got back from a holiday to Tobago. We were booked in at the Turtle Beach By Rex Resort but refused to stay there as it was the worst hotel I have ever seen. We were transferred to the Blue Haven and must say that we were so happy from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by Natasha... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Haven, the best thing about the hotel is the setting and the way the hotel is situated. The beach is lovely and very well looked after, the boys who looked after the sunbeds combed the sand each day and there was no rubbish on the beach . The food at the beach bar... more

We arrived at the Blue Haven slightly concerned at a number of recent reviews. However, almost immediately we warmed to its character, friendly staff and its peaceful and beautiful location. Though further upgrading would do no harm, we'd have no hesitation returning despite (perhaps, because of!) its quirkiness. more

We went during the "quiet season of August"; but that is still no excuse for the lack of interest by the kitchen staff. We went to Tobago for 2 weeks and ate in the hotel only twice. The first meal we had was on the night we arrive and we would have eaten anything after so many hours of travelling... more

We had the most idyllic holiday at this hotel, the staff and manager could not do enough to make our stay fantastic, even going so far as to find me a lobster, which isn't easy in the West Indies! We had special requests for food cooked by the Head Chef, Damian, who is the most helpful man, even first thing... more

After reading all the other bad reviews of the Blue Haven I decided to go with an open mind and make my own decision about the hotel after all this is the Caribbean and I was prepared for things to take a little longer than usual. The good things about this hotel are the views and the friendliness of the... more

Don't be led by the description of "old world charm" and "extensively renovated in 2001".It's very tired and quite rundown. We just had a week there and were very dissappointed. We booked superior ocean view room and found on arrival that:- 1. the room door lock required a minimum of five minutes of jiggling key to unlock. 2.the safe didn't work... more

What a fantastic holiday me and my husband had here. The staff were the most friendly people we've ever met. I have to make special mention to Aljun, Anderson, Albert, William, Raul, Milard and Rustem who were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The hotel was lovely, rooms were decorated nicely. Views were fantastic. We had... more

We visited the Blue Haven Hotel 30 Sept - 14 Oct 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel rooms are elegantly decorated and clean with a maid service everyday. The setting is fantastic, views are perfect and every member of staff is friendly and courteous (from the reception manager to the gardeners) even to the point of the barstaff bringing... more
