Laura saved us from a 'not so comfortable' place we had been staying. The bed was exquisite, the bathroom bright and clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the ocean and the view right out the door was spectacular. The restaurant is open again and we had two of the most WONDERFUL dinners there before we had to leave. Next... more

My husband & I stayed a bit over 2 weeks and would definitely stay here again. Large room, great balcony overlooking a gorgeous close ocean view, very clean and a great, comfortable bed. Had a kitchen with all necessities, maid service 3x/week, cool grotto pool with ocean waves crashing over rocks and spilling into the pool...Small lively bar downstairs was... more

We had a wonderful experience and stayed 4 nights, place is undergoing renovation, but does not bother residents. The owner Laura was very helpful and and gave all info and arranged for our trips to nearby island+ she even dropped us to the airport which saves a days worth car rental. Cane bay is very pretty has 2 to 3... more

The one and only nice thing we can say is that this hotel is RIGHT on the water and you can enjoy the beautiful view from your balcony looking right down at the waves. Now, for the not so nice things to say about this resort: The owners have obviously been trying to renovate this property. Unfortunately, they've given most... more

The new owner is trying to remodel the place. Unfortunately, the previous owners really let it go so it needs a lot of work. It seems the contractors aren't very reliable in St Croix and materials are difficult to get so progress is slow. She has replaced the beds and linens and the bed we had was very comfortable. She... more

I stayed at the Wave for 5 days. I loved the area that the hotel was in. It was in an area that was kind of secluded and quiet. There are two restaurants in walking distant from the hotel--nothing really fancy but inexpensive. Also, you can swim, snorkel, and scuba dive at Cane Bay. The staff of all three areas... more

Interesting small family run hotel. The view and ambience coupled with the ownership are the aspects that rate this very highly, the comfort level is very good and management accommodating. Points were deducted for some of the careworn aspects, but when price is factored in, the overall MUST be above average, as in our experience the property is certainly comparable... more

Very run down, everything rusted, stove rusted. Cutlery and crockery all grubby. Aircon worked, but the glass sliding doors to the patio did not even close. Safety deposit box totally rusted, and couldnt get the thing locked in the first instance, and then once it was locked could not get the key out. Spent over an hour playing with the... more

We stayed one night. The A/C did not work appropriately...we sweat all night. The patio doors didn't close and therefore could not be locked. The room needed a lot of attention to make it presentable. Dust and used kleenex under the bed. The restaurant was not open while we were there. If you are looking for a nasty place to... more

My family and I were staying at the Waves in May and met the reviewer from Columbus Ohio (May 28, 2005) who left the previous review. She selected the Waves, sight unseen, based on their website. To some degree, it was probably a case of her having too high expectations. However, we too, were disappointed in most respects. First some... more
