Returned home June 11 2009. Arrived early at the hotel - no problem able to check in right away. No light outside the room or remote for television - no problem taken care of immediatley. Room right on the beach. The ocean was warm and clear - beaches soft white sand. You must go to the Pirates Buffet on Friday... more
I would strongly agree with the reviewer directly before mine that, the Carambola is a nice quiet place to go for a relaxing vacation but, nothing really extraordinary by any means. We had to make last minute changes to our Turks and Caicos vacation plans due to one members expired passport so the USVI was the obvious choice. Had always... more
Just returned from a trip to this resort and was mildly disappointed. Granted it was a very last minute booking due to changes we had to make to a previously booked trip, but I don't think this resort deserves the flurry of 4 and 5 stars it has gotten on Trip Advisor. Since my goal was to have a rather... more
We just returned from a week's stay at the Carambola Beach Resort. The rooms were beautiful with views of the beach and ocean. Their location on St. Croix was great for us - no commercial property nearby. No hussle or bussle - just very laid back. It's on the north shore, but accessible to everything on the island by car... more
My husband and I spent our May 2-9 honeymoon at the Carambola resort. It was absolutely wonderful - even though we were there during one of the rainiest weeks in history! We stayed in one of the remodeled rooms on the second floor - the room was wonderful - marble floors, granite countertops, large screened in porch with an amazing... more
Before we went, I read mostly great reviews for Carambola and a couple negative. After having spent a week there, I am totally baffled by the negative reviews! My husband and I stayed at Carambola from April 21 to April 29 and seriously had an amazing vacation. The resort is definitely more remote than any other resort or hotel but... more
I stayed here with my boyfriend who also wrote a review (cheguevara949) for 4 nights, from 4/20-4/24. We mostly picked this place because of the reviews it has received on tripadvisor and the remote location. And remote it was - there was virtually no cell phone reception at the resort, and it was a wecome relief from my nyc blackberry-ridden... more
If you wrote bad reviews of this place, youre nuts. Again it makes me wonder about the sanity of trip advisor users. With that said, my girlfriend and I checked in for our 4 night stay, no problem got a ride to the room, and started our vacation off the right way. The beach at this place is one of... more
My wife, daughter (19) and I needed a short 4-night break from the snow and picked this resort from the TripAdvisor list based on relatively easy access to St. Croix, and the overall reviews. We wanted a place to just soak up sun, enjoy the beach and relax and this place delivered. I was a little concerned by some of... more
