We stayed at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef part of the hotel June 26-30. Our room had a view of the harbor. The room was fairly spacious and had a small balcony. The tv was modern and the tables and countertops had granite on them. Some of the decor is a bit retro but once you got used to it you... more

We were concerned about making reservations at The Marriott, especiallyafter reading so many mixed reviews. Upon further analysis we determined that fewer negatives comments were about Morning Star, thus we made our booking on that side of the property. Upon arrival we saw many sad faces in the lobby (main), but were kindly told once we spoke to a rep.... more

This is a great hotel, But be aware, it is secluded and away from town, you will pay $6-$10 per person to leave the resort. Wife and I were going for pizza one night and cabby quoted $10 each way pp to take my family of 4 to the Pizza shop in Red Hook. Marriott charges you $12 pp to... more

My husband and I stayed at Marriott's Frenchmen Reef and Morning Star Beach Resort for our 25th. anniversary and my birthday. The location meaning St. Thomas, is marvelous but the management was horrible. 1. Our room wasn't ready and we were asked to leave our cell phone number and have a seat at the Sunset Grille until the room was... more

We stayed at Frenchman's reef in June of 2009. We arrived all excited about our trip to St. Thomas to find out that they did not have our room. They had overbooked but claimed that a pipe burst in some of the hotel rooms. We had already paid for our room and called to confirm. They shipped us to another... more

We read a lot of reviews about this resort and were very skeptical about going after hearing about a lot of issues people had encountered. Nevertheless, we gave it a shot, and I decided to make sure that I keep notes so that I could tell everyone about our experience. First of all, if you are a US citizen, no... more

After reading some of the reviews on this site, we were a little nervous about our trip. We worried for nothing. The hotel was beautiful, the beach was beautiful. We could have had a better view out our hotel window (we had a view of the roof), but we weren't in the room long enough to let it bother us.... more

We stayed at the hotel June 14-19 and had an amazing experience in St. Thomas! My boyfriend and his mother and her boyfriend shared a room in the Frenchman’s Reef portion of the hotel with a resort view. (Ages 21-40’s) Keep in mind that I am a college student so I do not have much money but it was affordable... more

Walked into a beautiful lobby to a VERY long line. Check in took 3 hrs, even though we did not arrive early. Our room was not ready yet. We finally got to our room, it was nicely decorated, seemed clean, and had a ocean view even though we paid for a regular room. Unpacked our things, and I went to... more

Our first (and I hope only) visit to Marriott's Frenchman's Reef wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Our stay was brief, one night after flying in from Chicago on our way to St John. Based on our experience during this short time, here's my impression: money needs to be spent on this property. Spent on facility upgrades, room upgrades,... more
