Below average for USA standards. Depends on what you're looking for. View from Pool deck/bar & cafe is unbeatable. Rooms are just...well.. A/C worked. Don't know about free shuttle when we were there. Taxi rates are out of control & could be killing most tourism. Menu items, as in most places here are $$$ with food being avg.

We have stayed here three times and always have a great time. The view is magnificent and we had fun lunching and enjoying pina coladas poolside. Let me clarify why we stayed here, we had spent our time in a great villa in St. John and didn't want the hassle of trying to catch an early flight out of St. Thomas, because you need a ferry to get there, so instead we stayed in Mafolie Hotel which is on a hill above the main city there... More

Cannot speak to the experience of staying here but can speak to the pleasure of dining here. The dining room is tweedy elegant with an utterly magnificent view of the town and harbor below. The Mafolie hotel overlooks Long Bay -- where cruise ships dock. Though the hotel is an older hotel, it is clean and comfortable. Our original room had only a single queen bed and when my daughter and her friend decided to come with us, they accomodated a room switch graciously and without additional cost (out the door cost was $195/night)....
