We had the Wyndham Sugar Bay hotel host our wedding on Nov 7, 2009. Everything that they did far exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Rain was expected on our wedding day, so they offered to upgrade the reception area to another area which was over 4 times as expensive as where we had initally planned for no charge. Also our reception room was upgraded to a nicer area... more

The Wyndham is a relatively well-maintained and beautiful resort. It is also conveniently located right on the 'dollar bus' route for inexpensive transportation to Red Hook and elsewhere. The room is big, clean, and well-appointed along with two sinks, a microwave, and a fridge. Food is not great but decent; bbq ribs and coconut shrimps are two standouts. The three pools with waterfalls, basketball hoop, volleyball net are really nice. With better staff training, it... more

Upon arrival..you go up a large manicured lawn and it really is breathtaking. You are out of the whole cruise ship/port thing and just a lovely bay. Checking in was odd. We did the allinclusive. nobody told us where any resturants, bars or anything was located..how to get to the beach--nothing. She did put us in one of their nicer rooms on the 7th floor. The veiw of the islands and their beach was beautiful. We figured... more

We just returned from our trip at the Sugar Bay Resort from Nov. 30-Dec. 4, 2009. The staff at the Sugar Bay made this trip very special for us. The all inclusive package was worth it. The ocean view was worth it. The food at the Manor House restaurant (just off the lobby of the hotel) was excellent. The "special" dish each night was always a hit. The casino machines were a fun distraction after... more

Room was dirty when we arrived, so they gave us another room. Room was still not that great. Restaurants stunk, only 1 open everynight. After 5 times eating in the same restaurant we got sick of it more

Resort and room was very cozy. The staff kept to themselves a lot but was wonderful if you had any questions or needed assistance with anything. We arrived mid afternoon and got a room with a broken bed, when we called the front desk we immediately received an upgrade ocean view. If you want to be closer to town, shopping and restaurants this is not the resort for you. There’s a little beach by the... more

Our stay at the Wyndham was awesome. We were able to get a free upgrade from resort view to ocean view upon arrival, as well as free internet all week. Trevor at the front desk was as nice as they come. The rest of the staff was so nice there that even though we booked an all inclusive trip we couldn't help but tip them for drinks, food, transportation anyway. Eat at The Manor House... more

Stayed at this hotel earlier this year. My daughter had a great time. Alot for kids to play. From the pool and all the kids amenities. the people there are wonderful. The food and the other hand left a lot to be desired. The breakfast buffet, is all we really enjoyed. Pass on the all inclusive. Plenty of other places on both islands to eat at (st. Johns and st Thomas). There are plenty of... more

We traveled to St. Thomas with another couple. After we had booked I started reading a few reviews (and of course concentrated on the negative ones) and by the time we left on vacation, I was scared to death of what I was going to find upon arrival. What I found was the most amazing place on the face of the earth with the absolute best service, food, employees, drinks, etc. It was fabulous. The... more

Prior to arriving at this hotel I had booked a garden view room. When I arrived I was upgraded to an ocena view room without an additional charge. The room was very comfortable and had amazing views of the ocean and St. John in the distance. The pool area was very picturesque and clean. The hotel's beach was small but not at all crowded and was a great place to relax. The staff was helpful... more
