I was a solo traveler and Sweet Plantations was a wonderful alyernative to the high priced resorts and time-shares. I stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing time. As you know, renting a vehicle is an absolute must. Its the only way to have the freedom to explore the island.
The rooms were neatly kept and simple. This hotel is perfect for solo travelers, or with girlfriends, guy pals, etc.
They rooms did get hot and there was little ventilation, except for the ceiling fan and a window.
The walls were thin so bring earplugs and you'll be fine.
It is more like a hostel than a hotel, but the location is fantastic. Eating at the resturant downstairs is a must! It is a wonderful meal. I ate there 3 times. If your a budget traveler, or solo. This is a great place. more
