Saw this villa--Perelandra--on VRBO (vrbo.com) which stands for Vacation Rentals by Owner which we've used several times before with very happy results.

Our first time to St. John but we'd heard good things about it and it seemed like our kind of place--WARM in the winter, in fact warm enough to be able to swim & snorkle comfortably in the ocean; full of nature (2/3 of the island is National Park), and a great islandy place to relax, renew, and reconnect with each other.

It was ALL of that and more. And Perelandra definitely added, in fact was an integral part, of the whole experience. The house is VERY clean, VERY private, and has the most spectacular views we have had ANYWHERE (and we've been fortunate enough to have gone to many places in this world).
