At the west end of New Providence lies an exquisite hideaway. A STONE'S THROW AWAY is perched on one of the highest elevations by the coast. Here our Guests can indulge in a rare panoramic view of Nassau 's land and sea. The scenery boasts the best of the island's natural wonders, from the native pine forest by Lake Killarney to the brim of the coral reefs that protect the glimmering beaches of west Nassau. The property was recently built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: wood floors and wood ceilings, louvered shutters and a large wrap around porch bring the visitors back to a quieter time long ago when the music of the islands could be heard in the whispers of the trade winds. more » « less

A great place to stay with great food, friendly staff, lovely rooms and a wonderful pool with a waterfall. The ocean side of the house has postcard wooden porches bathed in sumptuous ocean breezes where you can breakfast or lunch. If you prefer indoor dining, the breakfast room is reminiscient of an English country breakfast with a gorgeously classical tropical... more

We stayed at a Stone's Throw Away for one night in April. Our room was very nicely decorated, but we had to switch rooms because there was no hot water. It seemed that this is a recurring problem, as we saw a previous tripadvisor review that mentioned this. The service was somewhat inattentive to our problem. Our second room had... more

Me and my wife stayed here in Feb and had the most wonderful time. The boutique inn is away from the downtown area and close to the best beach on the island( Love Beach). We stayed here for 4 nights and then stayed in Cable Beach. There is no contest. The service, atmosphere and price of Stones Throw Away far... more

The Stone's Throw Away B&B is located a little far from town, but had its own charm being away from all the touristy areas, making it a more serene and personal experience. We stayed on the second floor island view and loved our room/ balcony where we could see the ocean from on the side of the balcony (beautiful). Our... more

This bed and breakfast was very close to the airport- about 10 minutes away. The rooms are very nice and very clean, but there are no restaurants or stores nearby, so I would not recommend it unless you have a car. Lunch and dinner are not included and are VERY over-priced considering the quality of food. The pool is a... more

As others have mentioned, the building and the grounds really are wonderful. We had a 3rd floor room with a large balcony overlooking the sea. In fact, the balcony was bigger than our room! (But no, the terraces are not private--anyone can walk by and look into your windows or trip over your chaise longue.) Anyway, I won't repeat all... more

I stayed in Room 2 - near the front desk. It was a nice enough room if but a bit noisy. The bathroom sink had no hot water and very little water pressure to the sink or shower (read: trickle .... slow drip!) I was given a key to the uncleaned room upon arrival. As it turns out I needed... more

Beautiful B&B, quiet, very clean with tastefully decorated rooms. The exterior and the pool area are surrounded by lush gardens. The breakfast is served on a outside patio with a great view on the ocean. You have to know that this B&B is located far away from the center of Nassau. If you have a car you're OK, if not,... more

We recently returned from our stay at the Stone's Throw Away (ASTA). We stayed for 14 nights and had our wedding reception there as well. In terms of the hotel, the rooms are lovely and the staff is very friendly. We had stayed in Cable Beach before and in comparison, we really liked how quiet and friendly the ASATA is.... more

I will agree with many reviewers here and say that I loved the place. I loved the location, but I do wish we had a car while we were there. The only 2 restauarnts within walking distance were both pretty bad. Pretty bad to awful food and ridiculously overpriced. We took the bus (which was great) to the "fish fry"... more
