Secutiry Travel Agency told me I won a trip to the Bahamas, but then was told my hotel was not near anything for tourist to do, so I could get a location upgrade to be near activities where Redwood was located. Location okay, but accommodations were not enjoyable at all. Our shower door had rusted off and the rusty frame... More

This hotel was an "upgrade" provided by Security Travel. There are a few positives. The location is excellent, being adjacent to the Market Place at Port Lucuya. Another positive is that if you stay here, you have rights to the Taino Beach Resort, with free water taxi provided to the resort and back. Taino Beach Resort is very nice, but... More

The Redwood has the perfect location in Freeport. The staff was very nice, the even have free Redwood punch in the lobby. We did one of the timeshare excursions and had a lot of fun there. We got to swim and hang out at the wet bar! The rooms at the Redwood were cleaned daily, and the staff was pleasant... More

I just returned from the Grand Bahamas. My husband and I stayed at the Redwood Hotel. We had a great stay there, the place was nice and clean. The Hotel is under new management, so there is some renovations. The staff was very nice, even made coffee in the late evening for me. This is a prime location for visiting... More

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCKS ONE BLOCK FROM THE BEACH. Casino, marketplace, bus stop, taxis and yacht club all within eyeshot. night clubs and pubs all within walking distance. Wife and I stayed here March of '07. Staff very courtious and the room was taken care of daily. the place is old, and looks it. but the location to all... More

We let Security Travel of St. Petersburg, book this 3 nite ship excursion with an upgraded hotel as the "Redwood" because of it's closer location to the beach and the restaurants. That "upgrade" cost $159 more than the Bell Channel a mile away. Keep in mind we also paid the $30/day hotel fee in cash to the hotel which in... More

What the Redwood lacks in decor and luxury is made up for by excellent service and hospitality. The manager went out of her way to see that the details were taken care of, such as providing us an umbrella when it rained. She also offered for us to wash our laundry in the hotel facility at no charge; when we... More

Don't be scared by the humble exterior, the rooms are clean and big. The location is great--across the parking lot from Port Lucaya Marketplace (shopping, straw market, restaurants, bars, etc.) and across the street from the Our Lucaya Resort (the Sheraton and the Westin). All the beaches in the Bahamas are public, so walk across the street for some great... More

My Wife and I and my Brother and his wife stayed at the Redwood. We enjoyed being there. I suppose if you are a nitpicker you could find things to complain about, but we found it to be clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accomodating, and it's located within walking distance of everything. If we were ever... More

You cannot beat the price for the location. The hotel itself is not bad either. We payed 1/3 of the price at the Redwood as we would of at the hotel on the beach across the street. You have less than a 3 minute walk to the beach, casino, count basie square, food, shops, marina, etc... You are also less... More
