Bennett's Harbour has a small dock that opens to a well-preserved creek system that is excellent for kayaking, snorkeling, sea turtle spotting and bone fishing (and is only a few short minutes paddle right from the beach at Halvorson House.) The community of Bennett's Harbour is a quaint settlement with a library, car rental, gas station and a few mom-and-pop shops including Yardie’s and Derek’s Conch Shack. Just up the road visitors can enjoy live rake n’ scrape music nightlife at Dis’ We Place, home of the Bahamas Lasido Boys. Mary, Margaret and Minerva, the elders of Bennett’s Harbour, make traditional platt bags and hats and are always happy to share their talent and crafts with drop-in visitors. “The Perfect Family Vacation”

Halvorson House is an amazing place to get away and chill out. The island atmosphere is laid-back, the food amazing (they even cater for special diets!), and the resort is the perfect place to read, chat, chill in a hammock, or go kayaking with the turtles! We'll be back for sure!

Matt and Sooner are amazing hosts. The rooms are clean, comfortable, cozy and cool (air conditioned). The beach is perfect. The food is great...both at the resort and the local restaurant. Their prices are the best on the Island. This place is a tremendous value!
