When you pull into the car park two things strike you. Horses and dogs – simple as that. The owners are horse and dog people and so are most of the regulars. Yes you will have soulful eyes watching you eat if you eat in the bar - and much licking of lips in the hope that you drop some.... More

This has become one of our regular stops on our way into Wales. Bemused by the range of comments. It's a country pub full of character if you want an antiseptic chain don't come here! As someone who is quite nervous of dogs, I found them to be incredibly docile and well behaved. Yes they will come and say hello... More

Went here with my husband earlier in month after local recommendations. Food was OK, perfectly edible and nice but not fantastic and not really worth the quite high prices. Service was OK. Building is beautiful and full of character. If you do not like dogs, do not eat here. They have full run of the bar (where we ate) and... More

We visited the Clytha Arms on a Groupon deal. Overnight stay with an evening meal and breakfast. Nice place with an excellent well stocked bar. The meal was good and served with a smile. I consider that the deal was excellent value and enjoyed the stay.

The Clytha is a proper country pub that does food !! I have been going for years and in fact used to take my children to their previous pub in Little Mill. Yes the service is a bit hit and miss but I have never had a bad meal in all the years I have been going here. It makes... More

It's been a while since I've visited The Clytha Arms, and it's going to take some seriously good reviews for me to return. Although the poorly-proofread web site shows various awards and commendations, they're mostly more than five years old, and the recent ones are for beer, not for food and service. One of the two pre-dinner drinks we ordered... More

I know the Clytha Arms well and have eaten there several times in the last year and continue to go back. The first thing to say is if you do not like dogs then don't go as their dogs roam freely in the bars and the gardens. It has one of the best kept stocks of real ale and ciders... More

What kind of establishment says they will not serve food and can not even be persuaded to make some bread and butter for two small hungry kids and yet is then seen to serve up hearty sandwiches for locals? One that is lacking in any modicum of decency, customer service or hospitality and deserves to go out of business. Do... More

Went to the Clytha Arms for a bar snack and can only say how thoroughly disappointed my girlfriend and I were with the experience. Where to start with what went wrong???!! First of all, the place simply doesn't look or feel clean - a lot of these previous reviews have said the pub is quite grubby - hit the nail... More

Haven't been to the Clytha for a while and won't be rushing back. Overall food was fine...I had lamb and my partner skate. Where the Clytha let itself down is in terms of service and cleanliness. Service was slow...despite not being busy...and the place is in need of a good scrub. A country pub yes but does that excuse the... More
