My wife and I stayed at the Tredegar arms on a Saturday night in early September when visiting the area. A whitewashed pub with a small balcony with a couple of tables (round the back).
The pub is one of three in the area - and is in the centre of what's basically a large village. It has ample off street car parking.
The bar is in two parts, one with a pool table (with the locals) and a lounge area with some tables set up. Though it was a Saturday night, the place was quite quiet.
Our room (one of two) was a double, not an enormoud bed though. The rom was both clean with an en-suite shower room. I'd describe it as simple and perfectly fine, a place to stay a night or two. The welcome from all staff was distinctly above average, they seemed very willing to please, and the guy who arranged our cooked english breakfast (v nice) was particularly helpful.
The evening meal was basic pub food.
