We stayed at Cruachan Lodge for 4 nights , revisiting an area of Scotland very special to me having spent happy hols as a child nearby at Clashnessie . The house is beautiful with many original features as the former Manse - cosy and welcoming , fresh flowers everywhere , with a lovely residents lounge complete with open fire ,... More

A lovely place to go, friendly owners, lovely breakfast, great rooms and stunning drive to it, my only complaint is a shower would be nice but it is just stunning.

Lovely spot near Stoer lighthouse. Sandy beaches nearby. In house dinners are excellent - restricted menu so mention vegetarian requirements and they will oblige. Nearest restaurant about 8 miles away. Comfortable room with everything you need. On a windy single track holiday route which is well worth exploring. So is the road via Inverkirkaig (with excellent bookshop/teashop) to the Sumnmer... More

A traditional scottish manse lovingly restored. Comfortable rooms, quiet, and very welcoming hosts. Take the opportunity for an evening meal that is excellent and saves a longish trip to lochinver. The salmon pot starter was excellent. All in all a B & B that is pleasently different.

Very helpful hosts nothing too much trouble . Be aware thar Stoer is just straggly collection of houses along the road and has no shops or centre...nor anything to do in the evenings without driving 10 miles at least. The rooms are comfortable. Its a B and B and not a hotel. The breakfasts are fantastic ..the evening meal simple... More

Absolutely the best part of my trip to the Highlands this time, and I wish I could have spent the entire holiday here. The Cruachan Lodge is a wonderful little haven in the middle of stunning scenery. The rooms are spotless and beautifully decorated while still retaining a comfortable, homey feel. The meals are hearty and absolutely delicious (for instance,... More

During June 2010 my wife and I made a trip up the east coast of Scotland and slow return along the beautiful west coast. We stayed for one or two nights at eleven B & B's all picked based upon good TripAdvisor reviews. We saw this as a good way of testing how reliable T A was as well as... More

This is a real gem of a place, run by a lovely couple Dennis and Maggie. The views all around are indeed dramatic and you do have to factor in the drive to get here - but that is all part of the experience of course! We were in the master bedroom which was cosy - very big bed and... More

Two friends and I decided to visit the remote north west corner of Scotland. My initial contact with the owners of Cruachan Lodge was very favourable - friendly and accommodating. I had drastically underestimated the time to reach Stoer, but they were unphased and were most kind even when we pitched up after 10pm. The rooms were clean, well appointed... More
